Peninsula Hotel

When deciding on a hotel in NYC it’s hard to know exactly what to look for and is worth the price. With so many options, it’s essential to find a place that fits your travel needs and a location that works with what you plan on doing when visiting the big apple. I recently visited NYC and reviewed what I think are the best accommodations when it comes to safety, price, and luxury in each of their different neighborhoods.

Peninsula New York

The Peninsula New York is a New York City classic in an unbeatable Fifth Avenue location steps away from Central Park, Rockefeller Center, the Museum of Modern Art, and more. Upon entering, you are greeted with fresh flowers in a palatial lobby and helpful and warm staff. The rooms here are expansive for NYC standards and immaculately decorated with elegant, classic furnishings. The large marble-clad bathrooms with huge jet tubs and massive desks in the living spaces with amenities for business travelers are especially welcome. A hotel swimming pool is a luxury few NYC hotels can offer, and the one here is serene and offers incredible views of some of Manhattan’s most beautiful buildings. Suites here come with complimentary chauffeur service in Peninsula branded Mini Coopers, an immense value worth the splurge for a bigger room. The Peninsula Hotel is a no-risk choice for any NYC traveler in a prime location with amenities, service, and classic style that can be appreciated by anyone and everyone.

Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown

The Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown outpost is one of the only true 5-star experiences from a major luxury brand on the Southern end of Manhattan. Whether you are visiting the downtown sights, such as the World Trade Center just around the corner, or in the financial district for business, the Four Seasons Downtown is your best bet for a luxurious home base. Rooms here are very spacious for a New York City hotel and decorated gorgeously. Amenities include a heated pool, a fitness center, and a beautiful spa with a wide range of services. Like at all Four Seasons properties, the service is immaculate yet more warm and welcoming than most luxury properties. Orderable picnics and complimentary bike rentals make exploring the surrounding neighborhoods like Battery Park, Chinatown, the Financial District, Seaport, and more a breeze. The Four Seasons Downtown is unmatched by anything in the area and is a must for any financial district visitor. However, it is close enough to transportation and major sights that it is worth staying here regardless of where you need to be elsewhere in NYC just to experience the perfected luxury that accompanies any Four Seasons stay.

The Times Square EDITION

Though the typical NYC tourist may feel obliged to visit Times Square, residents and frequent visitors avoid its intense crowds and bright lights whenever possible. However, both business and leisure travelers may often have to stay in or around Times Square for its centrality and convenient access to the rest of Manhattan. The Times Square EDITION was designed to be an oasis of cool and calm for these very travelers. The Times Square EDITION is a sleek, hip escape from the noise and traffic just outside. Fantastic service known at all EDITION hotels starts at the door where staff will escort you to the tenth-floor check-in space. The common spaces here are opulent yet minimal, with a black and white color scheme accented by gorgeous living walls and the hotel’s signature scent (also found in its custom Le Labo bath products) wafting in the air. The rooms are even sleeker and pared-down than the common areas decorated in all white with hints of marble throughout. The minimalism is welcomed alongside the color and neon light pouring in from the windows with Times Square views. The restaurant and cocktail bar both utilize expansive outdoor terraces with stunning views of all of the Times Square action. Some rooms here have their own outdoor balconies as well. Overall, the draw of this place is its ability to make Times Square feel like a fresh, hip, and against all odds, desirable Manhattan location for tourists, business professionals, and frequent visitors alike. The Times Square EDITION combines unparalleled unique views of NYC’s heart with every luxury you would expect from a five-star hotel in one package, turning a visit to Times Square into a must-do for all NYC visitors alike.

Equinox Hotel

Opting for a classic New York neighborhood and quintessential stay may not be the best choice for every visitor. For those who want the service and luxury qualities of a classic 5-star intuition and the excitement of New York City’s buzzing new neighborhoods, look no further than Equinox Hotels’ first outpost in Hudson Yards. The Equinox Hotels’ first location opened in NYC’s Hudson Yards, a new multi-billion dollar development north of the long-time cool Chelsea neighborhood in 2019. Long-time Equinox fans and strangers to the brand alike will find Equinox Hotels’ focus on restoration and health refreshing and relaxing amongst the hectic hustle of one of the city’s hottest neighborhoods just outside. Inside guests will find Equinox’s largest health spa with everything you can expect from Equinox gyms and more opulent additions such as a rooftop pool with views of the Hudson river and spa add-ons like cryotherapy and vitamin IV drips. The rooms are decked out in a smart, dark palette and heavily emphasize restful sleep with a proprietary sleep system that includes some of the city’s softest beds, black-out shades, filtered air, and an in-room media library. Outside look forward to exploring NYC classics like the High Line, Chelsea Market, the Whitney Museum of American Art, or newer draws like Hudson Yards, The Vessel, or The Shed Art Center.
